Spain and Portugal

Spain and Portugal are two countries with distinctive history and cultures. Spain and Portugal’s cultures are more associated with the sea. The two countries’ histories and cultures are more related to Mediterranean countries and North Africa than Europe. In Spain and Portugal at one point in time was influenced by the Basques, a group in North Africa, and spoke that language at one point. The main reason they are so closely tied to Africa is because nearly one million people migrated to Portugal, which made it so Africa’s cultures introduced their cultures to them. Spain and Portugal had similarities in the field of business they were based on an agricultural system like in Africa rather then an industrial one up to a certain point in time. Spain and Portugal have cultures that are distinct from their neighbors in Europe because their geography isolates them.

Many European countries such as England, France, and Germany have many similarities in history and culture. They are so closely related because of different wars, which made people flee to many different parts of the area, which allowed the different customs to spread. The have many things in common now such as religion, language, economy, and even things in the field of agriculture. These similarities are due mainly to the countries being close to each other.

Spain and Portugal have been considered as isolated countries. They are part of the mainland Europe but aren’t very accessible because of the fact they have been cut off by the Pyrenees Mountains. They are also considered the Iberian Peninsula, which means rough seas to travel through surround it. It is completely surrounded by mountains and water granting very hard access.
